1) Self Diagnosis Method : user friendly environmental checklist
2) PERS
3) Network of port environmental managers

What does the Self Diagnosis Method involve?

Answer 2

The completed SCM is reviewed by collaborating experts. This review is to check to what level the port is already active in port environmental managements issues. eco ports have a database of a number of ports work side so the results can be benchmarked. Includes:

1) a projection of the ports actions against the global eco ports benchmark of performance.
2) gap analysis essay between current organisational performance with ISO14001 & PERS standards.
3) SWOT analysis of organisational performance
4) analytical report containing expert advice and recommendation on the current status and further development of ports environmental management programme.

Now achieves Eco Port status. Valid for 2 years.

What is required to implement PERS?

Formulate an environmental port policy, make a description of how EM is implemented in the port organisation & ,are an overview of environmental aspects that are seen in the whole port area.

Once PERS is implemented, the port can apply for ECOPORTS PERS certification.
