Q

How are wavelength and energy linked

A

Wavelength is inversely proportional to Energy

as one value increases, the other value decreases, and vice versa

Q

Why is a filtration (metal) used in an x-ray tube

A

Remove long-wavelength photons because they are low energy.
Low energy= gets absorbed by the patient and doesn’t reach the image receptor (not helpful/skin burns)

This means the overall intensity beam is reduced
