Temporary employee
–One who is employed for a fixed period of time (often seasonal)
Full time employee
. Permenantly employed by the business, usually work over 30 hrs a week
Part time employee
–Individuals who work between 0 – 16 hours a week
Consultant
–Individuals or businesses that provide professional services for a fee

Fixed term employment
• employees are employed for a fixed period of time e.g. 3 months. This is sometimes known as a short-term contract. This is often used for project-based work.
Permenant employment
• employees are employed indefinitely until either they decide to leave or they are made redundant or their employment is terminated (sacked).
Weekly hour basis of part time employees
•e.g. 15 hours per week (5 hours on each of Monday, Wednesday & Friday)
Zero hour contract for part time employees
• where there is no fixed number of hours, but the hours worked vary as the workload changes over time
Job sharing basis for part time employees
. where two or more employees share a single role, dividing up the time on an agreed basis
