Q

Do employees have the right to monitor staff

A

YUP, Unfortunately by law employers do have the right to monitor their staff, however the employer must respect the privacy of an employee and when a search of an employee is conducted it should be by the same sex and done with a witness present.
Employees must explain the amount of monitoring taking place clearly in one’s contract. However an employer is well within their rights to monitor staff.
