Embodied experience of emotions:
Interoception: the sense of the physiological condition of the body. One test for interoceptive skills is MAIA test.
Proprioception: your sense of position and movement. It’s also a feature of EQ. i.e. your body communicates a great deal of emotional information. by James-Lange Theory, physical arousal and cognition feeling, behavior. proceeds emotion.
One aspect of Emotional intelligence is about having access to internal physiologic data while not allowing ourselves to be overwhelmed or to create additional and unnecessary arrousal by being hyper vigilant about our bodies.
