emotional factors:
anger, trust, fear, confidence
impact of anger in you’re performance:
- negative impact
- if someone is trying to provoke me then i will lose my temper meaning i will get sent of, this impact my team in a negative way because they don’t have a full team which means their standards have dropped drastically
impact of fear in you’re performance:
- negative impact
- if you bring your nervous/panicked feeling onto the court it can have a negative outcome onto your performance
- if you are shaking and getting distracted it can lead to a poor skill being made this means that the opposite team will gain possession of the ball
describe a long term target for the emotional factor:
Explain why you set this target:
I want to improve my confidence when taking basketball shots by the end of my PDP
specific - clear and relates to the factor that needs improved. it ensures that i have a focus instead of training with a general goal this will make me feel more motivated and wanting to try harder in each lesson leading to me achieving my goal
describe a short term target for the emotional factor:
Explain why you set this target:
i want to have used 5 positive self talks by the end of the lesson.
adjustable - can easily be adapted or adjusted if its too easy or too hard.
it can make it suitable and achievable for all levels making you feel more motivated if its hard and more motivated to achieve more if you have completed it
approaches used for emotional factor:
deep breathing and counting to 10
positive self talk

what - breath through our nose and exhaling out the mouth. (in for 4 out for 6)
where - in a quiet space
when - during a game situation when we feel like we where put under pressure
benefits of deep breathing and counting to 10:
10 gives the performer enough time to decompress.
only takes a short amount of time so it can be done easily before or during performance
limitations of deep breathing and counting to 10:
may not have enough time in certain situations.
takes a while to become a habit so might not see any improvements.
