Lambrusco

A

Ancient family of native grapes in Italy. High acidity, moderate alcohol and red fruit-floral aromas.

L. di Sorbara: the benchmark/most famous, lightest. Needs a pollinator, often L.Salamino.
L. Salamino: the most planted.
L. Grasparossa: fuller body, more tannin, 2nd most planted.

A

Traditionally with multiple crops growing together in the field, and vines were on natural supports like trees.

Now VSP more common. Guyot and cordon for hillsites, GDC and Sylvoz for fertile plain sites, and also traditional Pergola Romagnolo in Romagna.
