What are Smart Cards?
You use this for financial transactions and add more money onto this card. Used in Transportation businesses
Name one advantage and one disadvantage of a smart card
Advantage: You don’t need to carry around the correct change
Disadvantage: They don’t need Pin, so if you lose it other people can use it.
What are Barcodes?
Barcodes are codes in the form of numbers and parallel lines varying in thickness. Can be read by mobile phones and machines.
Name one advantage and disadvantage of a barcode
Advantage: Commercial businesses can use this as adverts in magazines to quickly provide a customer with more information - don’t need to remember URL
Disadvantage: Not everyone can afford required smart phone, barcodes are not used by everyone
What are PIN?
PINs (Personal Identification Number) are short numbered passwords to authorise the identity of a customer. They are used in banking systems
Name one advantage and disadvantage of PINs
Advantage: trusted security of details
Disadvantage: causes debt and people can steal your PIN number
What is Cashless Society?
Cashless Society is an society that purchases goods and services with the use of a credit cards and electronic payment, rather than cash or cheques.
Name one advantage and disadvantage of a Cashless society
Advantage: It’s efficient, meaning you won’t need to carry cash or chequebooks
Disadvantage: Hackers can manage to find out your card details
