A
Control yaw
Lower collective
Pitch up to increase NR above 100%
Reduce ROD with collective at end of flare
Level skids
Cushion landing
18
Q

Engine Failure in Cruise

A

Corrective Action:

Control yaw
Lower collective, control NR between 90-110%
Pitch for airspeed 70-100kts
Min rate of descent 80kts
Max glide 110kts
Perform autorotational landing

Q

Engine Oil Pressure below Normal

A

Corrective Action:

If N1 above 72% and oil pressure between 40-80psi:
Maintain level attitude
Reduce power
Maintain 60-70kts level flight

When N1 stabilizes below 72%:
Check oil pressure, if stable between 40-80psi: continue flight LASAPractical

If below 40psi or dropping:
LASAP

20
Q

T/R complete loss of thrust in hover

A

Chop throttle, cushion landing

21
Q

Lightning Strike

A

Reduce airspeed to 80kts
Avoid abrupt or extreme maneuvering while in turbulence
LASAP
