what is precautionary landing

A

cabin crew and passengers do not have to evacuate, alert call, commander does a nits brief with sccm, pax are not briefed, crew make a mental note of abps, once crew are seated they do a 30 second review and after landing they await for further instructions

alert call “sccm to the flight deck” 3 double chimes- sccm to the interphone (from the pilot nits brief), on hearing this all other crew members will return trolleys to stowage and proceed to rear galley one crew member will act as a guard

aps briefed on exits (assist with flotation aids) they need 2 abps per exit and they will say how to open the over wing exit and the regular doors and tell them to tell passengers to stand back then where to go (cm door 1l cc4 right and cc3 left overwing exits)

A

brief 2 abps on d1l and d1r, who are you travelling with are you travelling alone?, when the aircraft comes to a stop we need to evacuate and i will check outside for any danger, i will check this yellow lever is down and i want you to hold passenger back, if all clear i will open the door by lifting this handle up and i will let go of the door and it should open by its self if it does not i will need to push, the slide should inflate if not i will pull this red toggle, do you understand? are you willing to help?

cc3 will brief overwing exits on left and cc4 on the right, who are you travelling with? are you travelling alone? you may be required top open this exit when we land, no actions must be taken until “evacuate unfasten your seatbelts and get out”, check outside for danger…

A

remove protective cover and discard, white slide light will illuminate, place one palm down on the control handle at the top and the other at the bottom, take the weight of the exit and throw it out

toilets unoccupied and secure, galley equipment and latches secure electrical power switched off, infants on passengers lap wearing infant seatbelts, laptops safely stowed, seatbelts fastened buckles correct way around, seat tables stowed, seatbacks up right, arm rests down, window blinds open, overhead lockers closed, aisles exits and bulkheads clear of baggage, seating restrictions observed, crew baggage and catering supplies stowed, safety equipment not obstructed and galley curtains secure

runway obstructed by another aircraft, weather conditions, a technical problem and failure to secure the cabin in time

what is the brace position for passengers

A

sit as far back in your seat as possible and place feet apart on the floor with legs against seat, ensure seat belt is fastened tightly, rest head in the seat infront of you, place hands on top of your head do not interlock fingers
