Engine failure during take off below V1
- Wheel brakes - apply
- Thrust levers - idle
- Spoilers - EXT
Engine failure during takeoff above V1
- Rudder and ailerons- As required for directional control.
- Accelerate to Vr. Keep nose wheel on the runway.
- Rotate at Vr; climb at V2
- Positive rate of climb established- gear up
- Clear of obstacles- Vt, flaps up
Engine failure during approach
- Control wheel master - press and release
- Thrust lever (op eng) - increase as required.
- Flaps - 20 deg max
- Airspeed - 1.3 Vs (flaps 20) min.
Engine fire - Shutdown
Affected engine:
- Thrust lever - IDLE (unless critical thrust situation exists.
- *if fire continues for more than 15 sec or there are other indications of fire:
a. Thrust lever - cutoff
b. Eng fire pull handle - pull
c. Eng extinguisher armed light- press one.
Immediate Engine Air Start (N2 above 25%)
- Thrust lever- idle
2. Ignition- on
Cabin ALT HI light cabin ALT warning horn or Cabin ALT Exceeds 10,000
(EMERGENCY DESCENT)
- Crew oxygen masks- Don and select 100%
- Thrust levers - idle
- Autopilot - disengage
- Spoiler - EXT
- Descend at Mmo/Vmo but not below minimum safe altitude.
- Passenger oxygen - deploy
CABIN FIRE LIGHT OR CABIN/COCKPIT FIRE, SMOKE, OR FUMES
- Crew oxygen masks- DON & select 100%
- Smoke goggles - DON
- EMER DEPRESS - lift guard and press
- Pilot and copilot NORM/OXY MIC switches - OXY MIC
OVERSPEED RECOVERY - OVERSPEED HORN SOUNDS
- Thrust levers - IDLE
- Autopilot- Disengage
- Identify aircraft pitch and roll attitude
- Wings - level
- Elevator and pitch trim - nose up, as req.
If Mach or airspeed is severe, or pitch and roll attitude is extreme or unknown:
- Landing gear - down (do not retract)
PITCH AXIS MALFUNCTION
- Control wheel master - press and hold
- Attitude control - As req.
- Thrust levers - As req.
- PITCH TRIM (pedestal) - off
ROLL OR YAW AXIS MALFUNCTION
- Control wheel master - press and hold
- Attitude control - as req.
If control force continues:
3. Airspeed - reduce
EMERGENCY BRAKING
- EMER BRAKE HANDLE - Pull out of recess
2. EMER BRAKE HANDLE - push Downward
EMERGENCY EVACUATION
- Stop the aircraft
- PARKING BRAKE - Set
- Thrust levers - cutoff
- EMER DEPRESS - lift guard and press
Auxiliary power unit:
a. STOP - press
b. MASTER - press - Notify controlling agency
- *IF ENGINE FIRE IS SUSPECTED
a. Applicable ENG FIRE PULL handle - pull
b. Either ENG EXT ARMED light - press
c. Other ENGINE FIRE PULL handle - pull
d. BATTERY 1 and 2 - Off
e. EMER BAT 1,2 and 3 (if installed) - off
f. Evacuate the aircraft - *If engine fire is not suspected
a. Both ENG FIRE PULL handle - pull
b. BATTERY 1 and 2 - OFF
c. EMER BAT 1,2 and 3 - OFF
d. Evacuate the aircraft
STALL WARNING ACTIVATES
- Lower the pitch to reduce the angle of attack
- Thrust levers - Takeoff power
- Wings - level
- Accelerate out of stall condition
ABORTED TAKE OFF
- Wheel brakes - Apply
- Thrust levers - IDLE
- Spoilers - EXT
INADVERTENT STOW OF THRUST REVERSER AFTER CREW COMMANDED DEPLOYMENT
- Maintain control with rudder, aileron, nose wheel steering, and brakes.
- Both TR levers - stow
