Engine Fire on Start
START SWITCH- continue to crank MIXTURE- idle cutoff THROTTLE- open FUEL PUMP- off FUEL SELECTOR- off
Engine Fire in Flight
FUEL SELECTOR- off THROTTLE- closed MIXTURE- idle cutoff FUEL PUMP- off HEAT/DEF- off AIRSPEED- increase in attempt to blow out fire
Electrical Fire in Flight
EMERG BATT SWITCH- verify arm BATT MASTR SWITCH- off ALTR SWITCH- off VENTS- open HEAT/DEF- OFF FIRE- extinguish EMERGENCY DESCENT- to a safe altitude
Engine Power Loss During Takeoff
If sufficient runway remains:
AIRSPEED- maintain safe airspeed
LANDING- land and stop straight ahead
BRAKES- as required
If insufficient runway remains:
AIRSPEED- maintain safe airspeed
FLAPS- as required
If sufficient altitude to permit restart:
AIRSPEED- maintain 76 kias
FUEL SELECTOR- switch to tank containing fuel
FUEL PUMP- check on
MIXTURE- rich
ALTERNATE AIR- open
Engine Power Loss in Flight
AIRSPEED- maintain 76 kias
FUEL SELECTOR- switch to tank containing fuel
FUEL PUMP- on
MIXTURE- rich
ALTERNATE AIR- open
LEFT/RIGHT MAGs- turn off then on one at a time
When power restored:
ALTERNATE AIR- closed
FUEL PUMP- off
Power Off Landing
AIRSPEED- maintain 76 kias LANDING PATTERN- establish 1000' downwind When committed to landing: AIRSPEED- 66 kias FLAPS- as required THROTTLE- closed MIXTURE- idle cutoff LEFT/RIGHT MAG SWITCHES- off BATT MASTER SWITCH- off ALTR SWITCH- off FUEL SELECTOR- off SEAT BELTS- tighten
Oil Pressure
THROTTLE- minimum required
If high oil temp- land as soon as possible
If normal oil temp- land as soon as practical
Oil Temp
THROTTLE- minimum required
MIXTURE- full rich
AIRSPEED- increase if practical
Fuel Quantity Low
If only one tank has low indication:
FUEL SELECTOR- on fullest tank
If both tanks have low indication:
FUEL SELECTOR- alternate tanks
Alternator Failure
VERIFY FAILURE- check altr amps indication ALTR SWTICH- off ALTR CIRCUIT BREAKER- reset if tripped ALTR FIELD CB- reset ALTR SWITCH- on If still failed: ALTR SWITCH- off ELECTRICAL PWR REMAINING- 30 min ELECTRICAL LOAD- shed in 3 min NON ESS BUS CB- pull LIGHTING BUS CB- pull AVION MASTER SWITCH- off BATTERY DISCHARGE- <13 amps max

Single chime
EMER BATT ON annunciator
Complete Electrical Failure
EMERG BATT SWITCH- verify arm SBY FLIGHT INSTRUMENT- verify operational AIRCRAFT CONTROL- use pfd and sby BATT MASTER- off ALTR SWITCH- off LANDING LIGHT- inop
Emergency Battery Voltage
Complete electrical failure imminent
Avionics cooling fan failure
On the ground:
DO NOT FLY
In flight:
FIX PRIOR TO NEXT FLIGHT
Pitot Heat Failure
PITOT HEAT SWITCH- off PITOT HEAT CB- reset PITOT HEAT SWITCH- on If still inop: Avoid IMC
Starter Engaged
On the ground:
THROTTLE- reduce
ENG START CB- pull
ENGINE- shutdown
In flight:
THROTTLE- reduce
ENG STAT CB- pull
Spin recovery
RUDDER- full opposite to direction of rotation
CONTROL WHEEL- full forward while neutralizing ailerons
THROTTLE- idle
RUDDER- neutral (when rotation stops)
CONTROL WHEEL- smooth back pressure
Open Door
AIRSPEED- reduce to less than 87 kias
CABIN VENTS- close
STORM WINDOW- open
UPPER LATCH- close latch
SIDE LATCH- pull on armrest while closing latch
If both latches open- close side then top
Engine Roughness
ALTERNATE AIR- open After one minute: MIXTURE- adjust ALTERNATE AIR- close FUEL PUMP- on FUEL SELECTOR- switch tanks ENGINE INDICATORS- check LEFT/RIGHT MAGS- individually select off and on
CO Detector Warning
Press the CO RST soft key on engine page
Shut off heater and any other opening to the engine compartment
Open a fresh air source immediately
