Emergency Checklist Memory Items Flashcards
Tail Compartment High Temp
- Pneumatic Crossfeed Levers - Close
- Airfoil Anti-ice switches - Off
- Both Air conditioning Supply Switches - HP Bleed off
AC Power Failure-Complete Loss
Emergency Power - On
*If emergency buses are not restored, pull Battery Direct Bus Feed CB reset lever. (Floor between CA seat and center console.)
Electrical Smoke of Unknown Origin
Oxygen masks, smoke goggles and Interphone - On, 100%
Air Conditioning Smoke/Fumes
Oxygen Masks, Smoke goggles and Interphone - On, 100%
Smoke/Fumes Removal - Pressurized
Oxygen masks, smoke goggles and Interphone - On, 100%
*Warning - Do not deploy oxygen masks
Smoke/Fumes Removal - Unpressurized
Oxygen Masks, Smoke Goggles and Interphone - On/100%
Stabilizer Runaway
- Autopilot - Disconnect
- Control Wheel Trim Switches - Trim in opposite direction of runaway
Do not use longitudinal trim handles to oppose runaway.
Avoid manual pitch inputs until A/P is disconnected.
Extended trim operation may result in thermal shutdown.
Trim motor operation may resume after sufficient cooling period.
Spoiler Float
Rapid roll develops during flap extension beyond 28:
- Flap Slat Handle - Retract 28/Land
Uncontrolled Rudder Movement
Rudder Hydraulic Control Lever - Manual
Brake Failure on Ground
- Brake Pedal Pressure - Release
- Anti-Skid Switch - Off
- Brake Pedal Pressure - Reapply
Wheel Not Turning Light Illuminated
During T/O is airspeed less than V1-20 knots:
- Reject T/O
- Return to ramp and determine cause
APU Fire
- APU Fire Control Switch - Off and agent arm
- If APU fire Annunciator remains illuminated
a. APU Fire Agent 1 or 2 switch - Discharge - If APU fire Annunciator remains illuminated after 30 seconds
a. Remaining APU fire agent switch - Discharge
Engine Fire
Throttle (Affected Engine) - Idle
Engine Flameout - Both Engines
- Emergency Power - ON
2. Ignition - Override
Engine Flameout/Failure/Shutdown
- If flameout suspected:
a. Ignition - Override
b. Fuel Supply - Check
- An engine flameout will be indicated by N1 and N2 windmilling, residual fuel flow and oil pressure. If ART activation, good engine parameters may flash on the EDP.
Tailpipe Fire
Throttle (Affected Engine) - Idle
Thrust Reverser Extension - In flight
Throttle/Reverse Lever (Affected Engine) - Idle/Full down
Hot Start
Fuel flow abnormally high (above 1000 PPH) or EGT rapidly approaching ground start limitations.
- Fuel Control Lever (Affected Engine) - Off
Hung Start
Engine is unable to accelerate to the normal idle N2 RPM.
- Hydraulic Pump Switch (Affected Engine) - OFF
No Start
No increase in EGT within 20 seconds from fuel ON.
- Fuel Control Lever (Affected Engine) - Off
Oil Pressure Low After Start (On Ground)
- If oil pressure below 40 PSI:
a. Fuel Control Lever (Affected Engine) - Off
Cabin Alt/Rapid Depressurization
Oxygen Masks and Interphone On/100%
*Fine dust from a rapid decompression may trigger a false smoke detector alarm in lavatories. If necessary, pull CALL SYSTEM CB (P-37)
