Q

EXCESSIVE ELECTRICAL LOAD
(high reading on Ammeter or smoke/fumes)
Unusable fuel 151 lbs after battery depleted due to inability to transfer fuel from the fwd cell
With batt & gen OFF, 80% charged 17 amp batt will ops LH boost/LH xfr pump for 1.7 hrs (28v for 2.8 hrs)
When throttle repositioned to idle stop during engine shutdown, PMA will go offline, engine may flameout
Pedal stop disengages with loss of electrical power

A

Q

DRIVE SHAFT FAILURE
LOW RPM WITH OVERSPEED
(left yaw, rapid dec Nr, rapid inc Np, Low RPM audio, RPM light)
(inc noise level due to overspeeding engine)
(eng overspeed trip activates at 118.5 Np – FADEC then maintains 100% Np)
(VNE AUTO 100 KIAS MIN R OF D 55 KIAS MAX GLIDE 80 KIAS)

A
ENTER AUTOROTATION
MAINTAIN HEADING AND ATTITUDE CONTROL
COLLECTIVE TO maintain 85-107% NR
CYCLIC TO maintain 55-80 KIAS
DO NOT SHUTDOWN ENGINE TO MAINTAIN T/R
Autorotative landing then shutdown

Q

ELECTRICAL FIRE
(smoke, fumes, or fire, possible abnormal amps)
If both xfr pumps fail, unusable fuel 151 pounds due to inability to transfer from fwd cell
Fuel will stop xfr at 345 lbs total fuel indicated
With battery and generator OFF, an 80% charged battery will operate left fuel boost pump and left fuel transfer pump for approximately 1.7 hours (2.8 hours with optional 28 amp-hour battery)

A
VENTS/WINDOWS OPEN
			BEGIN DESCENT
MAINTAIN SAFE FLIGHT CONDITION LAND ASAP

16
Q

T/R FAILURE LOSS OF T/R THRUST
IN HOVER
uncontrollable yaw to right, left side slip, nose down tuck, possible fuselage roll

A

THROTTLE CLOSE,

AUTOROTATIVE LANDING

17
Q

T/R FAILURE LOSS OF T/R THRUST
IN FLIGHT
uncontrollable yaw to right, left side slip, nose down tuck, possible fuselage roll

A

THROTTLE IDLE
AUTOROTATION MIN 55 KTS KIAS
FLARE AND RUN-ON LANDING

(DO NOT USE CYCLIC TO REDUCE FWD SPEED)

18
Q

T/R FIXED PITCH FAIL IN HOVER

lack of directional response, locked pedals

A

DO NOT APPLY FORCE TO MOVE PEDALS
PULL PEDAL STOP EMERGENCY RELEASE

do not close throttle unless severe right yaw occurs
LAND FROM HOVER

19
Q

T/R FIXED PITCH FAIL IN FLIGHT left pedal

lack of directional response, locked pedals

A

left yaw when high power reduced
left yaw when speed increased

power on approach with low airspeed to attain rate of descent with sideslip angle
increased collective before touchdown reduces left yaw
(nose) UP-RIGHT DOWN-LEFT

20
Q

T/R FIXED PITCH FAIL IN FLIGHT RT pedal

lack of directional response, locked pedals

A

right yaw when power increased

Low power, run-on landing gradually reduce throttle to mtn heading while adding collective to cushion ldg
excessive right yaw – completely close throttle
