Main Bus Fault
If after a L Main DC Bus fault, you attempt a Main Bus Fault Reset, but the reset fails, which caution lights stay on?
…..R nain bus fault reset?
Left Main Bus:
- Stby and Aux Bat caution lights + #1 PFD fails. Check for discharge on AUX BAT (electrical page). Automatic cabin pressure control is lost (Fault annunciation light illuminated).
- DC GEN 1 load: 0
- AUX BAT load: Negative
Right Main Bus
-Main Bat and Anti skid caution lights + #2 PFD and #2 MFD fails. Check for discharge on MAIN BAT (electrical page.
- DC GEN 2 load: 0
- MAIN BAT load: Negative
If after a L Main Bus Fault reset is atempted and fails, the DC Bus, #1 DC GEN, STBY BAT, and AUX BAT stays illuminated.
R Main bus fault reset fails: DC BUS, #2 DC GEN, R MAIN BAT caution lights stay on.
FADEC FAIL warning light
Critical/catastrophic failure resulting in loss of FADEC capabilities. The FADEC will either shut down the engine or reduce power to flight idle.
Run FADEC FAIL QRC
FADEC Caution light
Non critical feature of FADEC has been lost. Internal fault causing partial loss of FADEC. Adjust affected power leaver slowly and smoothly.
No Starter Cutout (START light remains illuminated)
Start looking! Start looking for the DC GEN caution light to stay on. Don’t abort the start.
Starter Failure (Select light remains illuminated)
Select light should shutoff 15s after starter cutout. Don’t abort start. Straight to QRH which directs you to select everything off.
“CABIN PRES” warning light (On its own)
CABIN PRESS warning light on its own is not an indication of a rapid or explosive decompression; instead, if you get CABIN PRESS on its own, call for the CABIN PRESS Warning Light QRH procedure.
Rapid Depressurization (indicated by typical symptoms (loud bang, cabin pres warning light, Cabin Diff of 0 and rapidly increasing cabin alt)
Upon detecting a rapid decompression, the correct thing to do is call for the “Rapid Depressurization
QRC” to trigger the Memory Items. Both pilots then execute the Memory Items, which are outlined in
AOM 4.6.2. Upon donning the masks at 100% (they are preset to 100%) and selecting MIC switch to MASK,
the Captain will say “Captain on oxygen,” and the FO will say “First Officer on oxygen.” After that,
“Rapid Depressurization QRC, I have ATC” will be called for. This will lead into an emergency descent.
Aborted Engine Start
If the ENG OIL PRESS or ENG HYD PUMP remains illuminated, or there is a hot start, hung start or no lightup, call for the Aborted Engine Start QRC.
Memory Items: Condition leaver - Fuel Off
Start Select Switch - Off
*As an FO starting the engine, abort the engine start, state the reason, then capt calls for Aborted Engine Start QRC.
1 STALL SYS caution light.
What other systems fail?
Both stick shakers and pushers.

Pitch Control Jam
“Pitch Jam Assist”
-Autopilot: Disengage
-Flap and airspeed: Maintain at time of Jam
-Pitch Control: Attempt to overcome Jam “Help me Push”, “Help me Pull”
-If unable to overcome jam: “Pitch Disconnect”
-Relax control column and pull and turn Pitch
Disconnect handle 90°.
Whoever has control, once at 1000ft AGL: “Pitch Control Jam QRC, I have ATC”
-Airspeed: 170 knots (Max) or speed which jam occurred, whichever is higher.
Roll Control Jam
“Roll Jam”
- Autopilot: Disengage
- Try to overcome
- If unable to overcome, “Roll Disconnect”
- Roll Disc Handle: Pull and Turn 90°.
- Whoever has control, once at 1000ft AGL: “Roll Control Jam QRC, I have ATC”
Roll Control Malfunction
-PF: “What’s the problem?
-PM: Roll Control Malfunction
-Roll Control: Apply and hold wings level
-Are SPLR 1 or SPLR 2 push lights continuously illuminated?

What 3 possible problems exist for an APU caution lights?
Check APU Panel:
1) APU Failure
2) APU GEN Overheat (GEN OHT Advisory Light)
3) APU GEN Failure (GEN WARN Advisory Light)*
*APU caution light may not illuminate.
What if you get an unscheduled feather well after takeoff with the autofeather off?
Be wary, it’s more likely to be an oil leak. An unscheduled feather should not happen outside takeoff when autofeather is disarmed as the AUPC will drive props to overspeed with RPM below 816 RPM. The only exception to this is when the power levers are at a low setting in cruise. In this case AUPC is not active.
If you get both #1 and #2 BLEED HOT caution lights on take off with the bleed switches off, which QRH is to be used?

What is a likely result if you have problems with both the Flight Compartment Pack and the Cabin Pack?
Aircraft will depressurize and you have to descent to 14 000 ft or lower.
What is the difference between standard, simple special and complex special engine failure procedures?
Standard: EG. DT or LT or RT to a heading. It is to be commenced at FRA.
Simple special: A turn is required prior to FRA
Complex special: Mandatory under VMC and IMC. Designed to keep the aircraft in an obstacle free zone and is to complex to fit in a simple special.
Single Engine Taxi: #1 engine failure or #1 Hydraulic system failure
- Power leavers disc

- If normal braking doesn’t work, slowly apply and set emergency brake.

What’s the difference between “ARCDU Failed” and Fail Message on ARCDU INT display area”?
QRHs?
No control of display or radio buttons in the first.
in the second, no control of audio level and transmit source selections.
“FAULT” light illuminates on Cabin pressurization controller and or “Cabin Pressure” Warning light.
“Cabin Pressurization Failure” QRH or “Cabin Pressure Warning Light” QRH.

Call for the QRH according to the caution lights you see. As PM you have to make sure you’re reading the proper checklist.
“DE-ICE PRESS” Caution light
- Main deice pressure on either side is less than 15 psi.
- Boot pressure doesn’t reach 15psi after the DDV (Dual Distributor Valves) opens.
- Boot pressure stays at 15 psi after the DDV closes.
Rudder Jam
The related RUD 1 or RUD 2 PUSH OFF switchlight will illuminate. It must be pushed to depressurize the affected PCU. The related No.1 or No.2 RUD HYD caution light will come on.
“RUD CTRL”
No 1 or No 2 Hydraulic system failure
FCECU unable to control rudder pressure
Airspeed #1 is not euqal to Airspeed #2 by 17 kts (IAS Mismatch message of PFD), ELEVATOR FEEL, SPLR OUTBD, and PITCH TRIM caution lights come on.
APU fail light illuminates during APU start
APU Fail advisory light illuminates during start. “APU start failure QRH”.

Spoiler Cable Failure.
Which caution lights?
There is a spoiler cable tension senor assembly which detects this. They prevent spoiler extension by removing pressure.
If extend pressure is removed you get ROLL SPLR OUTBD HYD and ROLL SPLR INBD HYD CAUTION LIGTS. below 150 k you get SPLR OUTBD caution light as well.
SPLR OUTBD caution light
The outboard spoilers haven’t been disables above 185 kts or activated below 150 kts. (They are normally reactivated at 165 kts). THE FCECU hasn’t locked out the outboard spoilers.
SPLR INBD GND or SPLR OUTBD GND caution lights
Spoilers haven’t extended on touchdown triggering caution lights, or
FCECU detects loss of spoiler lift dump function, or
Spoilers extend after flight/taxi switch is set to taxi.
ROLL SPLR INBD HYD
- Spoiler cable failure or
- No 1 hyd sys press less than 900 psi or
- SPLR 1 PUSH OFF switchlight pushed
ROLL SPLR OUTBD HYD
- Spoiler cable failure or
- No 2 hyd sys press less than 900 psi and speed <165k or
- SPLR 2 PUSH OFF switchlight is pushed and speed <165 kts
Spoiler tension sensor assembly operates two switches which remove hydraulic extend pressure.
ELEVATOR FEEL caution light
Check for messages on your screens. If present, run the QRH for that item. Eg. FD ATT DATA INVLD, IVSI FAIL, ATT FAIL, PITCH or ROLL MISMATCH. Could also be AHRS related.
If not any of the above. One of the FCECU channels is not able to control the pitch feel actuator. FCECU detects failed pitch feel actuator and holds it at its last valid position. The other pitch feel actuator operates normally but with reduced artificial feel.
An IAS mismatch is also possible and in this case you will also get RUD CTRL and SPLR OUTBD and ELEVATOR FEEL caution lights.
PITCH TRIM caution light
- Either FCECU channel cannot control its related trim actuator.
- AS mismatch (+/- 17kts)
- Trim input commands disagree as a result of disagreement between both PFTUs.
ELEVATOR PRESS caution light
No 1,2 and 3 hydraulic systems are supplying pressure to the elevator PCUs.
