Fuel Selector- Switch to tank containing fuel
Electric Fuel Pump- Check On
Mixture- Check Rich
Alternate Air- Open
Engine Fire on Start
Starter- Crank Engine Mixture- Idle Cutoff Throttle- Open Electric Fuel Pump- Off Fuel Selector- Off Abandon if fire continues
Engine Power Loss in Flight
Low Altitute: Airspeed- 79 KIAS minimum If Altitude Permits: Fuel Selector- Switch to tank containing fuel Electric Fuel Pump- On Mixture- Rich Alternate Air- Open Engine Gauges- Check for indication of cause Fuel Flow- Check, if zero switch tanks Power Restored: Alternate Air- Close Electric Fuel Pump- Off Power Not Restored: Trim for 79 KIAS

Gear Down
Airspeed- Trim for 79 KIAS Short Final: Airspeed- 72 KIAS Landing Gear Selector- Down Flaps- As Desired Throttle- Closed Mixture- Idle Cutoff Ignition- Off Batt Master- Off Alternator Switch- Off Fuel Selector- Off Seat Belts and Harness- Tight
Power Off Landing
Gear Up
Airspeed- Trim for 79 KIAS Short Final: Airspeed- 72 KIAS Flaps- As Desired Throttle- Close Mixture- Idle Cutoff Ignition- Off Batt Master- Off Alternator Switch- Off Fuel Selector- Off Seat Belts and Harness- Tight
Electrical Fire in Flight
Source of Fire- Check BATT Master Switch- Off Alternator Switch- Off Vents- Open Cabin Heat- Off Land as soon as possible
Engine Fire in Flight
Source of Fire- Check Fuel Selector- Off Throttle- Closed Mixture- Idle Cutoff Electric Fuel Pump- Check Off Heater and Defroster- Off
Loss of Fuel Flow/Pressure
Electric Fuel Pump- On
Fuel Selector- Check on tank containing fuel
Electrical Failure
ALT Annunciator Light Illuminated: Ammeter- Check to verify inop alt ALTR Switch- Off Reduce Electrical Loads to a Minimum ALTNTR. FIELD Circuit Breaker- Check and Reset ALTR Switch- On ALTR Switch- Off if power not restored
Electrical Overload:
Batt Master Switch- Off Ammeter Does Not Decrease: Alternator Switch- Off Ammeter Does Decrease: Batt Master- On Ammeter- Monitor After 5 min if load does not decrease: Batt Master- Off
Propeller Overspeed
Throttle- Retard
Oil Pressure- Check
Propeller Control- Full Decrease (set if able)
Airspeed- Reduce
Throttle- As Required to remain below 2700 RPM
Emergency Gear Extension
Batt Master- Check On Alternator Switch- Check On Circuit Breakers- Check Nav Lights- Off (Daytime) Gear Indicator Bulbs- Check Airspeed- Reduce below 87 KIAS Landing Gear Selector Switch- Gear Down Position Emergency Gear Lever- Down and Hold until gear locks
Spin Recovery
Rudder- Full and Opposite to Direction of Rotation
Control Wheel- Full Forward While Neutralizing Ailerons
Throttle- Idle
Rudder- Neutral
Control Wheel- As Required to Return to Level Flight
Open Door
Airspeed- 87 KIAS
Cabin Vents- Close
Storm Window- Open
Door- Latch Shut
Engine Roughness
Mixture- Adjust for smoothness Alternate Air- Open Electric Fuel Pump- On Fuel Selector- Switch Tanks Engine Gauges- Check Magneto Switch- L & R then Both
