where did Tudor’s support come from
Tudor tried to invade during Buckingham’s rebellion but winter storms meant that he arrived off the Devon coast too late, the day Buckingham was arrested
Trap that Buckingham was waiting for him so Tudor retreated back to Brittany, was a threat as he had a claim to the throne and had a lot of support
Gloucester dispatched a diplomat to Brittany in July 1483 but they gave Tudor warning and he was able to escape to France

Xmas Day 1483, supporters swore homage to him as they would as king HVII and in turn he would marry Elizabeth of York
Benefitted from up to 500 political exiles eg Dorest, John Morton and Woodvilles
Tudor’s support included experienced commander such as Oxford, Pembroke and Woodville
