- Intramembranous

A
- Bones develop within a cartilage model/ scaffold
- Replacement of cartilage of bone
- Cartilage forms first & ossification replaces it
- E.g. Limbs, ribs, vertebrae

Intramembranous
A
- Occurs on/ within fibrous connective membranes
- Mesenchymal cells form a membrane which develops directly into bone
- Forms bone immediately
- E.g. Clavicles, Cranial vault bones
