Embryology of the Heart Flashcards
Three layers of the heart tube
Endocardium, cardiac jelly, mesocardium
Parts of the developing heart before cardiac folding
Aortic sac leading into the dorsal aorta, truncus arteriosus, bulbous cordis, primitive ventricle, primitive atria, sinus venosum.
What will the truncus arteriosus become?
Pulmonary trunk, aortic arch
Bulbus cordis will become?
Right ventricle, left and right outflow tracks.
Primitive ventricle will become
Left ventricle
Primitive atria will become
Left and right atria
What are the inflow tracts of the sinus venosus?
Common cardinal veins (outermost)
Umbilical veins
Vitamins veins (innermost)
Sinus venosum gives rise to?
Visceral pericardium, primitive conduction system
What happens to the left horn that comes from the sinus venosus
Breaks down and also gives rise to coronary sinus
Common cardinal vein from right horn becomes?
The superior vena cava
Right Vitaline vein gives rise to?
The inferior vena cava
