ECG Flashcards
Normal amplitude of p wave
=<0.25 mV
Abnormal p wave may indicate?
Left or right hypertrophy
Atrial premature beat
Hyperkalemia
Normal duration of QRS
0.08s - 0.12s
Abnormal in QRS can indicate
Cardiac arrhythmia, ventricular hypertrophy, MI, electrolyte derangement
Q wave greater than 1/3 of height of R wave and greater 40ms indicates
MI
Wide QRS incites
Left or right bundle branch block, hyperkalemia
Tall T wave indicates
Hyperkalemia, left bundle branch block, MI
Flattened or inverted T
Ischemia, race, age hyperventilation, RBBB, LVH drug- digoxin, PE
PR duration
120-160 ms
PR represents
Atrial to ventricular conduction time through the bundle of His
Prolonged PR indicates?
1st degree heart block, trifasicular block (problems with right bundle branch and both fascicles of left bundle branch)
Short PR indicates
Wolf Parkinson White syndrome (heart beats abnormally fast)
Lown Ganong Levine syndrome (direct contact of atria to ventricle)
Normal QT duration
40 ms
Causes of long QT
MI, myocarditis, Romano ward syndrome
Duration of ST
80ms to 120 ms
