What is an alkali?
Chemical compound that neutralises acid. Typically corrosive.
What is an acid?
Chemical substance that is typically corrosive or sour tasting. Neutralises alkali
What does neutral mean?
In the middle of acid and and alkali, neither alkali or acid! Ph level of 7 its water!
What does neutralising mean?
Make an acid or alkali substance chemically neutral.
What is an indicator?
PH indicator measures how acidic, alkaline or neutral is is.
What does solution mean?
A mixture of a solute in a solvent.
What is a solute?
A substance that dissolves a solvent when a solution is made.
What is a solvent?
The liquid that dissolves a solute?
What does saturated mean?
A solution made when the maximum amount of a solute that can be dissolved.
What is an an element?
An element is only made up of one type of atom.
What is a compound?
An element is made up of 2 or more atoms chemically bonded together.
What is a mixture?
A mix of 2 or more compounds and atoms not chemically bonded together.

7-14
What is a valency?
Can be used to work out the chemical formula of a compound or element.
