Barriers

A

*Physical = not enough resources for age or needs
* Mental = feels like they are unable to participate due to low confidence, depression or withdrawal
* Beliefs and Opinions of family members can transfer to the child/young person such as low expectations
* Curriculum = must be inclusive and meet the needs of every child and young person
* Family background = abuse, neglect or being a young carer would mean that the child is not being correctly supported
* Socio-economic = limited resources or poor living can result in hunger, lack of sleep and anxiety which would affect their focus
