Electrostatic Flashcards
Whats EMF and EMF
Electromagnetic force refers to voltage.
Electromotive force there is a difference.
Current and its formula
The flow of electrons in a circuit.
I = q/t
Where: I is current (amps)
q is charge (coulombs)
t is time (seconds)
1 amp = 1 coulombs (Cs^-1)
Conventional Current
Says that charge flows from the positive terminal to the negative terminal. Modern current is the opposite of the real situation.
V = w/q
V=Voltage W= potential energy in J Q = charge
P = W/T
W= Joules aka energy
T = Time in seconds
P = measured in watts
P = VI
P = power watts
V=voltage
i=current
Series and parallel Circuits (Kirchoffs loop rule)
Series: Current stays the same through. Voltage differs.
Parallel: Current differs voltage stays the same. Kirchoff’s loop rule says voltage may vary through each resistor. Vtotal = V1 + V2 +V3…
Ammeter: Measures the current flowing through a resistor.
Rtotal = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3
Then the answer is flipped.
Normal Force Formula
F = m x 9.8
Net force is the total of the force being exerted.
Ff - Fi = ma
