What is ATP synthase

A

Enzymes that makes ATP use energy from proton (H+) gradient- flow of H+ back across membrane

Q

4 steps of ATP

A

1) NADH and FADH2 donate high energy electrons to the ETC
2) energy from electrons are used to pump H+ against concentration gradient
3)oxygen accepts electrons from ETC and combines with H+ to form water
4)H+ travels through ATP synthase, causing it to spin- spinning allows a phosphate group to bond with ADP, making ATP (chemiosmosis)
