Series Circuit
A circuit in which there is only one path for the circuit current to flow.
Parallel Circuit
A circuit in which there is more than one path for the circuit to flow.
Electric Current
The flow of electric charge.
Circuit
A path through which electric current can flow.
Open Circuit
There is a break in the pathway (incomplete)
Closed circuit
There is NOT a break in the pathway (complete). Charges flow through the circuit.
Switch
A device that opens or closes a circuit
Conductors
Materials that allow electricity to pass through them easily.
Insulators
Material that don’t let electricity move through them easily.
What materials are conductors?
Copper, water, most metals, silver
What materials are insulators?
Plastic, rubber, wood, paper, cloth
