Q

Why is the potential difference different for componentes in a series circuit?

A

They have different resitances, so more energy is needed to get the electrons across the higher resistances.

Q

Why do we get static shocks?

A

Electrons are transfeered when two insulators are rubbed together.

Electrons build up on a surface.

When the surface is brought near a conductor, then the electrons jump from one surface to the other causing a shock.
