What does the ammeter measure

How do you find the total resistance (series)
Add them all up
How do you find total pd and current in a parallel circuit
- Pd is the same throughout
- Current is shared
What happens when you add a resistor in a parallel circuit
It reduces the total resistance
What colour is the live wire and what does it do
Brown and it provides alternating pd (at about 230V) from mains supply)
What colour is the neutral wire and what does it do
Blue and it completes the circuit carrying away the current
What colour is the earth wire and what does it do
Green and yellow, it is for protecting the wiring by stopping the appliance casing from becoming live
What unit is resistance measured in
Ohmes
