Q
What are the circuit rules?
A
Series circuit rules:
- current is the same at any point.
- the potential difference across the supply is shared between the components of the circuit.
- the resistance of the whole series circuit is the sum of the resisters of its components.
Parallel circuits:
- in a parallel circuit the current will split at a ‘junction’. The total current at a junction must be equal to the total current out.
- the potential difference is equal to the supply.
