Electricity Flashcards
Whats conventional flow and electron flow?
Conventional: + –> -
Electron flow: - –> +
Difference between alternating and direct current?
(DC) Is the flow of electric charge in only one direction.
(AC) The direction of the flow of electrons switches back and forth at regular intervals or cycles.
Whats the voltage and current across a resistor in series?
the voltage across each resistor is different. In a series connection, if any resistor is broken or a fault occurs, then the entire circuit is turned off. The current applied across both remains the same.
Whats the voltage and current across a resistor in parallel?
Each resistor in parallel has the same full voltage of the source applied to it, but divide the total current amongst them.
