Electrical Terms Flashcards
What is an Ampere (A)
Unit of electric current.
What is a Current (I)
The flow of electrical charge. Measured in Amps (A).
What is Direct potential difference
Potential difference in one direction.
What is an Electric circuit
A collection of electronic components connected by a conductive wire that allows for electric current to flow.
What is Ohm (Ω)
Unit for resistance.
What is Potential difference (V)
The force that pushes the charge around. Measured in volts (V).
What is an Resistance (R)
Reduces the flow of current. Measured in ohms (Ω).
What is a Resistor
Component that prevents the flow of electric current.
What is a Volt (V)
The standard unit of measure for electric potential (voltage).
What is Watt (W)
The standard unit of measure used for electric power.
