Electrical Circuits Flashcards
1
Q
Components of a circuit
A
Power source (battery), load (globe etc.), conductive pathway (wires)
2
Q
Voltage
A
Potential difference. A measure of the amount of energy in each electron. Measured in Volts (V)
3
Q
Current
A
A measure of the number of electrons passing a point per second. Measured in Amps (A), used in formulas as (I).
4
Q
Resistance
A
A measure of how difficult it is for electrical current to flow through a conductor. Measured in Ohms (Ω), in formulas as (R).
5
Q
Ohm’s Law
A
R=V/I. Can also be switched to V=A x R or I=V/R.
