Q

Uses of static electricity

A

Spray painting - paint droplets will be attracted to the oppositely charged frame
Inkjet printers - charged ink droplet is guided by altering currents on the deflecting plates

Q

Dangers of static electricity

A
  1. An aircraft gains charge when flying
This charge can escape to earth hen refuelling and can ignite the fuel
To solve this, aircraft are earthed before refuelling
  2. Screens become charged with static electricity and attracts dust particles
Therefore, you can have problems watching TV
  3. Our clothing can gain static electricity and can give us a little shock
