Q

what is the arrangement for negative charges?

A

the lines point inwards = positive charge is attracted

P.S. if the field strength gets very large, there will be a spark

Q

what are some similarities and differences between electric and magnetic fields

A

similarities:

  • opposites still attract
  • same still repel
  • produced by two kinds of charges/poles

differences:

  • there can be a neutral charge in electric, but not in magnetic
  • magnetic fields always form loops, electric fields stand on the positive charge and end on the negative

Q

what is a danger of electrical fields and how is it dealt with

A

in surgical rooms, the surgeons need to be careful not to cause any sparks so they have conducting floors that will keep the patients earthed

Q

what is a use of an electrical fields

A

the paint droplets in a spray gun that are used to spray a car are positively charged while the car panels are negative, so the paint will stick better
