What is the key part of the electric bell
the soft-iron armature
Why is the soft metal armature so important
it gets attracted to the electromagnet and causes the hammer to ding
BUT
breaks the circuit at the same time
Why is it important to use an electromagnet
so when current is flowing it works but when no current flows it doesn’t work
When circuit is broken what does it look like
the soft iron armature is in contact with the magnet but not with the screw so circuit is broken
After the circuit gets broken (iron armature loses contact with screw) what happen
the electromagnet stops producing a magnetic field so iron armature returns to normal position and completes circuit AGAIN
