What is elder abuse?
A
A single or repeated act or lack of appropriate action, occurring within any relationship where there is an expectation of trust, which causes harm or distress to an older person

What are signs of abuse?
A
Bruising hidden bruising unkempt appearance malnourished low mood/self esteem behaviour and mood changes starined relationships withdrawal from social activity over emphasis of normality financially struggling appearing fearful or nervous around individuals

What are your responsibilities?
A
If you have heard or seen something that makes you concerned about the welfare of an elderly person you must take action
Never agree to keep things secret
Alert your line manager or senior of your concerns
Clearly document what you have seen and/or heard
