an assessment that measures student performace agaisnt a fixed set of predetermined criteria or learning standards
criterion assesment
an assessment or evalution that yeilds an estimate of the position of the tested individual in a predefined population with respect to the trait being measured
non-refrenced assessment
assessments that are conducted either wholly or by word of mouth such as answering questions, performances, presentations, and role play
oral assessments
assessments where students write to communicate their learning and should include a rubric to assess. includes essays, lab write up, letters, and journals
