EL7 Solubility Rules Flashcards
Give the solubility rules for Nitrates (NO3-).
All nitrates are soluble.
Give the solubility rules for Carbonates (CO3 2-)
Only Group 1 carbonates and (NH4)2CO3 are soluble.
Group 2 carbonates get less soluble as you go down the group.
Give the solubility rules for Sulphates (SO4 2-)
Most sulphates are soluble with the exception of BaSO4, PbSO4, SrSO4.
Give the solubility rules for Chlorides (Cl-)
Most chlorides are soluble with exception of AgCl and PbCl2.
Give the solubility rules of Hydroxides (OH-).
Group 1 hydroxides, NH4OH and Group 2 hydroxides are soluble. Group 2 hydroxides get more soluble as you go down the group.
Give the solubility rules for Halides (Cl-, Br-, I-).
Most halide salts are soluble with the exception of all silver halides.
Give the solubility rules for All sodium, potassium and ammonium salts.
They are all soluble
