EKG deck 3 Flashcards
EKG interpretation
R ventricular Hypertrophy
R axis deviation? yes
How many mm for R in V1 + S in V5 = 9+ 15 = 24 mm
Is it greater than 10 mm? yes
EKG interpretation
L ventricular Hypertrophy
R axis deviation? no, so not RVH
How many mm is the S in V1 + R in V5? 20+15 = 35
is it greater or equal to 35? yes
What might you see with the QRS for a bundle branch block?
Either two QRS s out of phase (rabbit ears)
or a wide QRS (looks like mountain tops)
R Bundle Branch Block
L Bundle Branch Block
When looking for a Right bundle branch block, what 3 leads are you checking?
Lead I
V1
V6
Diagnostic criterion for a Right Bundle Branch Block
QRS widening to at least 0.11 seconds but not wider
A rSR or RsR in Right sided lead V1
A wide terminal S wave in leads 1 and V6
QRS is usually predominantly positive in V1
Diagnostic criterion for a LBBB
QRS widening to at least 0.12 seconds
An upright QRS complex in Leads 1 and V6
The QRS may be notched, but there should not be and q wave in either lead 1 or V6
A predominantly negative QRS complex in lead V1
What is it?
L Bundle Branch Block
Wide QRS in Lead I and V6? yes
What is the direction of the terminal forces in v1? Down so its Left
What is it?
R Bundle Branch Block
Wide QRS in Lead I and V6? no
What is the direction of terminal forces in V1? positive
Right BBB
What is it?
L Bundle Branch Block
Wide QRS in Lead I and V6? yes
What is the direction of terminal forces in V1? down
LBBB
