Ejet E1 - AMS Flashcards
Which systems composes Air Management System (AMS)?
Pneumatic and Environmental Control System (ECS)
How the pilot is advised when an engine or APU bleed leak is detected?
An amber striped bar is illuminated on the respective bleed button
What happens to OFV when the CABIN ALTITUDE selector knob is moved to DOWN position?
The outflow valve is manually CLOSE, provide the PRESSURIZATION MODE selector knob is set to MAN position
What happens when the CABIN ALTITUDE selector knob is moved to UP position?
The outflow valve is manually OPEN, provide the PRESSURIZATION MODE selector knob is set to MAN position
When the PRESSURIZATION MODE selector is set to LFE CTRL the pressurization system will operate in Manual or Automatic mode?
The pressurization system will remain in AUTOMATIC mode.
What happens to the LFE indication on EICAS when LFE selector is momentarily selected to DOWN or UP position?
The LFE decreases or increases in 100 ft increments.
Whats is required to have the LFE be displayed in the “cabin box” on EICAS?
The flight plan on MCDU must be closed.
If the “HI FIELD” label is displayed on EICAS what does it indicate?
Cabin Altitude Warning set point is shifted from its original value of 9.70O ft indicating the airplane is in High Altitude operation mode.
How the Bleed System is automatically configured during a single AMS pack operation?
Engine bleed valve associated to the inoperative pack is commanded to close and the crossbleed valve is commanded to open.
What is the function of the APU Bleed Check Valve?
Prevents engine bleed air from flowing to the APU when engine bleed is the pneumatic source.
If the APU Bleed Valve commanded open when the left engine bleed is available?
No
If the APU Bleed Valve commanded open when the anti-ice system is required?
No
Bleed air is provided to the Air Management System by the engines, or the APU. What is it used for?
- Environmental Control System (ECS)
- Engine Start
- Anti-ice system
- Water pressurization
What is the function of the Engine Bleed Valve (EBV)?
Regulate the bleed pressure provide by engine bleed system.
How is the bleed air temperature regulated?
It is regulated by the precooler and the Fan Air Bleed Valve which modulates fan air to cool the hot bleed air
Which engine stages are sources of air to the Engine Bleed System?
9th (High stage) and 5th (Low stage)
Which abnormal bleed operation conditions will make the system automatically shut down the affected bleed?
Detection of leak, overpressure or fail condition.
How the bleed system is automatically configured if cross bleed fails OPEN?
The Engine Bleed #1 is commanded closed.
Is it possible to have both the APU and the engines as bleed sources simultaneously?
No!
Which conditions must be met to APU be the source of bleed air on the ground?
1) Ground speed bellow 50 kts
2) 30 s have passed after touchdown
3) REF ECS OFF and REF AI not ALL or single-engine taxi.
Which pack adjust airflow and temperature of the cockpit and the passengers’ cabin?
Pack #1 => cockpit
Pack #2 => passengers cabin
In which conditions the Gasper Shutoff valve is automatically commanded open?
Whenever the gasper air supply exceeds 35º C.
Can the APU bleed be used for the anti-ice system operation?
No!
When the Recirculation Fans are commanded OFF?
Both packs are OFF
During cabin warm-up with APU as bleed source
Cargo bay fire is detected
DUMP button is pressed
Smoke is detected in the recirculation bay.
What is the main function of the Emergency RAM Air ventilation?
Provides air ventilation in case of pack shutdown or for smoke removal.
When the flight deck pack emergency RAM air ventilation valve is commanded OPEN?
Only if both ECS packs are OFF and the plane is below 25.000 ft.
Why the PACK 1 OFF message is displayed on the ground during engine start?
Because of the RAM Air valve BIT..
The AMS disregards the ECS OFF signal when the airplane is above what altitude?
15.000 ft
Considering the FMS initial flight level setting, which are the two differential pressures provided by the CPCS?
- 7.8 psi if cruise level is < FL370
- 8.4 psi if cruise level is >= FL370
The CPCS automatically identifies when the airplane is operating at airports above ….. Ft.
8.000 ft
The CABIN ALTITUDE HI EICAS message trigger point is automatically adjusted to a plus ….. Ft AGL when the operation is at an airport above ….. ft.
500 ft / 9.400 ft
When the DUMP function is activated, the CPCS system automatically controls the OFV to maintain the cabin altitude rate of climb at …. ft/min up to …. ft
2000 ft/min up to 12.400 ft. Above it, normal leak.
What happens when the DUMP button is pushout in Manual Mode.
The DUMP funtion will not be available but the PACKS and recirculation fans will be turned OFF.
What are the CPCS flight modes?
GROUND, TAXI, TAKEOFF, CLIMB, CRUISE, DESCENT AND ABORT
When the CPCS ABORT mode is activated?
When the airplane stops climb and immediately starts descending (no cruise mode activated) and altitude < 10.000 ft or < AFE + 5.000 ft
