What was Einsatzgruppen Job?
To murder those who perceived to be racial or political enemies found behind German combat lines in the occupied Soviet Union.
What were Einsatzgruppen?
They were squads composed primarily of German SS and police personnel and were also referred to as the mobile killing units.
Who were there victims?
Jews, Roma (gypsies) and officials of the soviet state and the soviet communist party. They also murdered thousands of residents of institutions for the mentally and physically disabled.
What started Happening in late summer 1941?
The Einsatzgruppen started shooting whoever they felt like such as jewish men, woman and children sojourn regard for age or sex and then buried them in mass graves. Gives an idea on how cruel they were.
How did they kill the jews?
Shooting was most common form of killing but gas vans which were a mobile gas chamber were used.
