The most important idea within the film “Bend It Like Beckham” is the idea of generational conflict. This is because generational conflict is a problem that affects many families with today’s society because of the way the world has changed and developed over time.

Jessminda: Protagonist.
Jessminda is a teenage girl with a love of the game of football, she dreams of playing professionally one day. Through Jessminda and her experiences we learn about how generational conflict can divide families as well as how generational conflict can be over come.

The most important settings within the film “Bend it like Beckham” were those with in the first scene.
The football match was very important as it introduced us not only to the fact that the film was going to be about football but also to Jessminda’s dream of being a professional football player.
The commentary panel setting was highly important as it was used to introduce us to Jessminda’s mother as how she doesn’t agree with Jessminda playing football.
Jessminda’s bedroom was an important setting as we learnt more about Jessminda as a person, about her life and about her situation.
