What does EICAS mean?

What are the three types of EICAS messages?
1- Alert Messages- non-normal conditions
2- Memo Messages - crew reminders for normal conditions
3- Status Messages- equipment faults requiring MEL ref for dispatch
What are the three priority levels of alert messages?
1- Warning
2- Caution
3- Advisory
What is the highest priority alert message?
Warning Messages
Can warning messages be canceled by pushing the CANC switch?
RED EICAS Warning messages remain displayed and cannot be canceled.
Can amber alert messages be canceled or recalled?
Amber EICAS Caution lights can be canceled by CANC switch and can be recalled by Recall Switch.
Where is the most recent EICAS communication message displayed?
The top of it’s priority group and all messages move down one line.

- Listed in the DDG and provide a cross reference to the MEL for dispatch capability.
- CYAN
What is the function of the EIU selector in the AUTO position?
- Selects an operable EIU to provide data to EFIS and EICAS
- L then C then R
