So the soul could use it on the afterlife. If you don’t have a useable body, you can’t get in to the afterlife.

What was the Cult of Osiris?
A Cult of people that worshipped Osiris, people came to Abydos to pray to Osiris for eternal life.
How do they invision the afterlife?
Identical to this one.
What else is buried with the king?
Pets, food, wine, beer, gold, servants, sometimes clay models of food, everything they would need in their real life.
Creation Belief
At fist, all there was was the Primeval Ocean, and it drained away until the Primeval mound, a pyramid shaped island was revealed. They believe that life is eternal, and begins over and over again.
What does the pyramid symbolize?
The primeval mound, eternal life. The promise of life’s return, resurrection and regrowth.
Who is Osiris?
God of the dead and resurrection, ruler of the underworld, and judge of the dead.
What are sacrificial bowls? How were they used?
They were clay bowls that people would place letters and prayers written to dead relatives asking for help and advice. They were left in the city Abydos.
