Q

Ka, Ba and Akh

A

Believed after you die, your KA (life force) departs from your body
The BA (a second self) was another wart of your eternal self, usually depicted as a bird with a human head on top
(Ideally, the ka and ba would reunite after death to create the AKH which would only happen if the proper burial rites, prayers and offerings were performed)
The AKH was depicted as a kind of bird. It still has contact with the world of the living- could influence the living people for good or bad (ex. stop disputes or cause sickness)
