EMERGENCY EXITS

A

WARNING

  • Activation of the Emergency Egress System when combustible fuel/vapours are present in he cockpit can result in an explosion/fire
  • Dangerous debris may be expelled 15m outward from the canopy when the system is activated. Ensure personnel are clear of the danger area before activating the Emergency Egress System.
  • After activation of the Emergency Egress System, sharp protrusions may remain at the edges of the door/window frame. Crew members should exercise caution when entering/egressing a canopy perforated by the Emergency Egress System
  • Operation of the emergency exit handles on the ground is only to be used if the action is considered essential for crew survival. Operation of the cockpit doors via the mechanically operated door handles is the preferred method of emergency egress on the ground.

CAUTION

  • Cockpit Emergency Exit Handle operation poses risk of eye injury to both aircrew. Don visors prior to operation.
  • After activation of the Emergency Egress System, sharp protrusions may remain at the edges of the door/window frame. Crew members should exercise caution when entering/egressing a canopy perforated by the Emergency Egress System
