Q

Fixed or Restricted Collective Control in Forward Flight

A
  1. Airspeed ………………………………. Adjust for level flight. (if possible)

If continued flight is not possible with control malfunction evident (terrain clearance not assured):

  1. External stores………………………………………… Jettison. (as appropriate)
  2. FOD interference………………………………………… Check. (time/inflight-conditions permitting)
  3. AFCS …………………………………………………. Disengage. (inflight conditions permitting)
  4. Collective …………………………………………………..Adjust. (if possible)

If normal control forces are not restored:

  1. ACFS AP2 then AP1………………………………….. Engage.
  2. Land as soon as possible.

Q

Fixed or Restricted Collective Control in Hover OGE with Immediate Landing Possible

A
  1. WP-P AUDIO OFF…………………………………………Select.
  2. ECP TRG mode……………………………………………Select.
  3. ECP OEI Power SUP (TRG)……………………………Select.
  4. ECP ENG2 (or ENG1) SLOW………………………….Select.

NR shall droop (not below 290NR). If not descending:

  1. ECP OEI Power MAX (TRG)…………………………..Select.

If still not descending:

  1. Collective OEI Power INT (TRG)…………………….Select.

When landed:

  1. EMER ENG SHUTDOWN…………………………….Perform. (both engines)

Q

Autorotation Landing with Tail Rotor Malfunction

A
  1. Airspeed ……………………. Maintain 100 (not 80!) KIAS if possible.

When satisfied that the approach will permit successful completion of the autorotation to the desired landing area:

  1. EMER ENG SHUTDOWN…………………………….. Perform. (both engines)
  2. Approx 100 ft RAD ALT ………………………. Initiate flare.
  3. Landing ……………………………………………Eliminate drift prior to touchdown and reduce forward speed to the minimum possible.
  4. Collective …………………………………….Cushion landing. (Be prepared for a touchdown with uncontrolled yaw)
