MINS Reference Selector

A
  • 3 knobs - outer - middle - inner

Outer knob (big knob). - 2 position

  • Radio - selects radio altimeter as mins reference
  • BARO - selects barometric altimeter as mins reference

Middle Knob. (slew)

  • Rotate - adjust radio or baro mins

Inner Reset Switch (RST) - momentary action

  • Push -
    • resets the alert minimums annunciation
    • blanks display if alert not active

FPV and MTRS Switch

A

FPV Switch:

  • Push - momentary action - displays FPV (on attitude indicator)

MTRS Switch:

  • Push - momentary action - displays altitude info in meters

BARO Reference Selector

A
  • 3 knobs - Outer - Middle - Inner

Outer.

  • 2 position
  • IN - selects inches of mercury at baro alt reference
  • HPA - selects hectopascals as baro alt reference

Middle.

  • Barometric selector (slew)
  • Rotate -
    • adjusts baro alt settin on altitude tape
    • if STD is displayed, it adjusts the preselected BARO reference

Inner. (Momentary action )

  • BARO STD switch
  • Push -
    • selects STD baro settings
    • if STD is displayed, selects the preselected baro reference
    • if no preselected baro is displayed, it displays the last value before STD button was pushed.

VOR/ADF Switch

A
  • displays VOR or ADF info on all nav modes EXCEPT Plan

VOR - displays selected VOR bearing pointer, freq or id and DME

OFF - removes VOR or ADF displays

ADF - displays selected ADF pointer, and ADF freq or ID

MODE Selector

A
  • 2 switches - outer - inner

Outer. (Mode Selector) selects desired display

  • APP
    • shows LOC and GS info (HDG UP format)
    • shows reference ILS receiver, freq or ID, course and DME
    • weather radar and TCAS are NOT displayed (in CENTER APP)
  • VOR
    • displays VOR nav info (HDG UP format)
    • shows reference VOR receiver, freq or ID, course, DME and TO/FROM
    • weather radar and TCAS are NOT displayed (in CENTER VOR)
  • MAP
    • displays FMC generated route and MAP info, airplane position, hdg and track (HDG UP format)
    • displays waypoints (including active wypt) w/in selected range
    • displays VNAV PTH deviation
  • PLN
    • displays NON-MOVING, TRUE NORTH UP, route depiction
    • airplane symbol represents actual airplane position and orientation
    • allow route step-through (using CDU LEGS page)
    • weather radar and TCAS are NOT displayed

CTR Switch (inner)

  • Push - displays full compass rose - center (APP, VOR and MAP modes)

RANGE Selector / TRAFFIC Switch

A

Range Selector. (Outer)

  • selects desired display range in nm - all modes

TFC Switch. (Inner)

  • Push - displays TCAS on the ND

MAP Switches

A
  • all are momentary action
  • add background data/symbols (MAP & CENTER MAP)
  • displays can be selected simultaneously
  • second push removes info

e - means ‘expanded’ mode for reference below

c - means ‘center’ mode

WXR. (weather radar)

  • energizes wx radar and displays returns (MAP, cMAP, eVOR, eAPP)
  • limited to 320 nm (even if 640 selected)

STA. (station)

  • displays all FMC database navaids (5, 10, 20 or 40 scale)
  • displays FMC database HIGH ALT navaids (80 and higher)

WPT. (waypoint)

  • displays waypoints in the FMC database which are NOT in the flightplan route (scale = 40 or LESS)

ARPT. (airport)

  • displays all airports in database w/in viewable map area

DATA.

  • displays altitude constraints (if applicable) and ETA for each active waypoint
  • VSD by pushing DATA

POS. (position)

  • displays IRS, GPS and VOR bearing vectors extended from nose of plane symbol to the station

TERR. (terrain)

  • displays GPWS generated terrain data (MAP, cMAP, VOR, APP modes)
