EFB Questions Flashcards
What EFB requirements are there when you show for a flight duty period?
EFB in good working order.
Battery at least 80% and in good working order.
If battery discharges from 100-50% in less than 2 hours, it must be replaced.
How long is a Loaner EFB issued?
2 weeks.
What fuel burn do we use to correlate sufficient battery available and the FOB?
ERJ = 4200 Lbs per hour.
i.e. if FOB or release fuel is 12500 lbs, then we need approximately 3 hours of battery power available to be legal to fly the leg.
What do you do if a EFB securing device is missing or broken?
May be replaced by contacting local Skywest MX.
Not an aircraft component so must not be written up in the can.
Can we dispatch with only one EFB securing device?
Yes.
PF will use the remaining securing device.
PM will store their device during critical phases.
PM may use their device in non-critical phases.
PM shall have printed copies of all pertinent charts.
Can we dispatch with only ONE operable EFB?
- Must be reported to EFB help desk.
- Authorization from the MOD.
- Pilot without EFB will contain the pertinent paper charts.
- PIC determines PF/PM.
- Do not use the damaged EFB block-out to block-in.
- Follow directions on SWOL to obtain replacement.
What if ONE EFB breaks during flight?
- Both pilots obtain charting info from the operable EFB.
- PIC will determine PF/PM
What if BOTH EFBs break during flight?
- Diversion not required.
- Notify dispatch to determine a safe course of action.
- Consider Wx, Fuel, Destination.
- Flight may continue if dispatch and PIC agree.
- If IMC approach required, consider declaring and emergency.
- Request charting info from dispatch or ATC if needed quick.
