Define spike and wave
A
Spike and wave: Spikes are very short in duration, with a sharp-pointed peak duration of 20 to 70 milliseconds duration and amplitude varies but are typically >50 uV .
A spike is followed by a wave component, and this is generated by GABA-b mediated currents

Define Sharps
A
Sharps:Sharps are longer in duration than a spike and last 70 to 200 milliseconds (5~14 Hz).Amplitude is between 100 and 200 uV, and the phase is usually negative.
