Simple present tense
For actions that are happening at the moment of speaking, for temporary actions, and for actions that are planned for the future.
Present Continuous Tense
For actions that have happened in the past but have a connection to the present, for actions that started in the past and are still continuing, and for experiences.
Present Perfect Tense
For actions that started in the past and are still continuing, with emphasis on the duration.
Present Perfect Continous
To talk about actions that happened in the past and are now finished.
Simple Past Tense
To talk about actions that were happening at a specific time in the past.
Past Progressive Tense
To talk about actions that happened before another action in the past.
Past Perfect Tense
To talk about actions that started before another action in the past and were still happening at that time.
Past Perfect Progressive Tense
The subject of the sentence performs the action.
Active Voice
The subject of the sentence receives the action.
